{fashion files} mixed prints

So tell me, what do you think about mixing prints?
Love it or leave it?  I'm really not sure either way.

There seems to be a fine line between a mix that's done right and is quite chic (see below) and just plain chaos.

These photos really are gorgeous!
I think it comes down to having
a little sass and a little courage and just rocking it!
The key is to pick classic patterns:  polka dots, leopard, stripes.  Nothing too crazy.
Ok, I'm convinced...let's do it!
I'm going to put together an outfit of the day post with mixed prints for Fall.

Will you join me?
Send me a link to your post and I'll include it when I post my OOTD!
You're welcome to do an OOTD too (if you've never tried it, give it a go!)
or put together style boards with your favorite mixed print looks

Let's say the deadline is 2 weeks!
So have your posts up by 18 October and I'll post on the 20th
YAY!
This will be really fun!
Send me an email or leave a comment below to let me know you're in
It's always good to get a little creative and try something new, right?

Hope you have a fabulous day,
xx

Love these mixed prints! Mixing prints can be a difficult task - I think Blair from Atlantic-Pacific has mastered that skill!

Great photos!

I'm scared to try this, I don't know if I could pull mixing prints off! These photos are all great though!

Can't wait for the results. I like the concept but I just don't dare to do it.

I have a polka dot dress that I mix with leopard pumps! Doing a post on it soon actually. I love mixed prints!

I did a mixed-prints outfit today - it was scary, but I think it worked out really well! Here's the link to the post with my mixed-prints outfit: http://smalltownbigwardrobe.wordpress.com/2011/10/11/outfit-of-the-day-mixing-prints/.

Thank you for doing this!
