MaeBad’s Guide to LA | Top 5 Coffee Shops in Los Angeles

There’s no shortage of Instagram-worthy coffee shops in LA. So many beautiful spaces with unrivaled aesthetics. But to find a coffee shop that is not only pretty but also serves excellent quality coffee, that’s a treat! I’m definitely not a coffee connoisseur but I know what tastes good! Here are my favorite coffee shops in Los Angeles — they win all the categories: gorgeous decor, delicious coffee, comfy seats for working and great vibes.

Go Get Em Tiger

Go Get Em Tiger, or GGet as they’re known locally, is located in Larchmont Village aka one of the absolute cutest neighborhoods in LA.  Walking down the street on Larchmont makes you feel like you’re in a movie – it’s just beautiful! And Go Get Em Tiger is the perfect little weekend coffee shop. They also offer fantastic food including breakfast sandwiches, waffles, avocado toast and roasted cauliflower salad.

Alfred

Chances are if you’ve ever scrolled through Instagram, you’ve seen a photo of a blogger inside an Alfred coffee shop 😉 Alfred is one of the most famous and Instagrammable spots in LA. They’re supposedly the ones who coined the term, But First Coffee and there’s a fun neon sign with the phrase inside their gorgeous Beverly Hills location. The original Alfred coffee was on Alfred Street in West Hollywood (now known as Alfred in The Alley) but their most popular location is near Melrose Place in Los Angeles. They also have an adorable Alfred Tea House near by with tons of pink and green! Other locations include: Brentwood, Studio City, Beverly Hills, Silverlake and JAPAN!

What To Get: Oat Milk Latte + Rose Croissant

The Boy & The Bear

The Boy & The Bear is so beautiful! And they have a location in Culver City, which is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles. Their Culver City location is known as The Gray Store because the interior is a super chic gray and their location in Redondo Beach is The Black Store because you guessed it — the interior is super sleek black. Love that branding strategy! They also have a beautiful chandelier and very chill vibes. Their food selection is fairly limited but there are lots of great spots nearby in Culver City to grab food.

What To Get: Salted Caramel Iced Latte

Rubies + Diamonds

Rubies + Diamonds was one of the first coffee shops I ever visited in LA and it’s one of my favorites. First of all, the name. So cool. Also, I first went there with my nearest and dearest friend Tala so I have fabulous memories of my first visit. Rubies and Diamonds is located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood so it’s a must if you’re visiting LA. Also, I LOVE their hashtag #notajewelrystore . Makes my branding-strategy-loving heart v happy. It’s not the most spacious, but hopefully you can grab a spot in front of their gorgeous pink wall and golden rain chandelier. Swoon.

What To Get: Coconut Sea Salt Cold Brew

Sqirl

Sqirl is one of those super trendy hidden gems in an area that I don’t even know the name of. You go east on Melrose Avenue and then turn left after a few miles! 😉 Expect a line out the door but there’s lots of seating indoors and outside. They also have an incredible selection of food (and the cutest plates that say: I Want To Eat Everything) !! The decor isn’t the prettiest but the ambiance is super cool. You just get the feeling that people are making deals and living their best lives in there. Yes please!
