Summer Reset | Getting Back On Track After Quarantine

I got a little tooo comfortable during quarantine…. Well, I did a pretty good job of taking care of my mental and physical well-being but still I didn’t pay as much attention to the physical as I would have liked. I decided to get back on track and work on getting rid of some of the quarantine fluff 😉 so here’s what I’m doing to get healthy and stay well after emerging from quarantine.

Focus on Water

I like the taste of water, but for me the biggest issue is remembering to fill up my cup or even go get a drink. So I ordered this fabulous water bottle from Amazon and it’s been keeping me on track with my water consumption. Be warned, it’s big! But I love the hourly reminders

Alternate Oatmeal & Protein Coffee

So I’ve been switching between these two “breakfasts” for the past few weeks and I feel great! Some mornings, I will make oatmeal with all the goodies. Oatmeal is a new to me breakfast, but I love it because it helps to keep me full for hours. I get the instant oatmeal that has flax seed for extra fiber. Then I add frozen berries, lots of cinnamon, and either almond milk or chia milk and microwave it for about 2 minutes. Once it’s done, I top with peanut butter and it is delicious!

On other days, I make protein coffee and that keeps me full for even longer! I’ll either make espresso at home or run to Starbucks and ask for 2 shots of espresso in a Venti cup with extra ice. Then I add a full bottle of Premier Protein protein shake in the Caramel flavor. (They have other flavors too — this is next on my list!) This veto-friendly protein coffee is so incredibly good! I drink that all day until I eat my first meal.

As a reminder, I am not a medical doctor and this is not medical advice. I’m just sharing what I’m doing and what has worked for me. You should consult your own healthcare provider concerning what to eat and when and how to best take care of yourself!

Drink SuperFood Tabs

Since I’m focusing on less soda and more water, I find myself craving fizzy drinks! I love these SuperFoods tabs because they make my water a fun fizz drink but more importantly they help me detox. I ate a lot of things that weren’t the best for me (thanks TikTok for all those delicious recipes!) but again I’m really trying to focus on detoxing and fueling my body with better choices. SuperFood tabs helps me not only shed a few pounds and increase energy but they are full of 15 superfoods — that’s the best part for me! Oh and they’re sugar free — super important! They’re keto, low carb, help control cravings, the list goes on and on. You can find the whole list of superfoods here, but they have ginger, chlorella, aloe, milk thistle, matcha, goji berry, wheatgrass and so much more goodness.

I usually keep it on my desk and alternate sipping on it with my water!

SLEEP!

I know this goes without saying, sleep is so important and I’ve been trying to really work on it! And not just getting more hours, but also improving the quality of sleep by putting away screens about an hour before bed and having a nighttime routine. I’m starting out simple but I put away my phone, do my skincare, say my prayers and read for 30 minutes before it’s lights out. And no matter if I fall asleep or not, I don’t allow myself to play on my phone again or get up. Just lay there and fall asleep. Creating a consistent routine has helped so much!

Chloe Ting Summer Shred Challenge

Another thing I learned on TikTok! Lol. I saw a bunch of videos of girls doing the Chloe Ting challenge, so I decided to give it a go. It is HARD. But I’m enjoying having a consistent routine and most importantly, moving my body. Most days, I go with the low impact version and I like that it’s not a ton of HIIT and just uses my own body weight for resistance.
